A natural evolution

In May 2024, my career at Innovasur took a new step, formalizing an evolution that had already been taking place within the Smart City project. As the platform, the clients and the team grew, so did my responsibilities, moving from software development to a broader role in technical direction and project management.

Since then, my work combines different facets of software engineering. I take part in needs analysis, solution design, architectural decisions, the development of critical components and the coordination of the teams responsible for taking them to production.

My goal is to keep a global view of each project without losing direct contact with the technology, connecting business needs with technical solutions that are viable, maintainable and suited to each context.

Software architecture and development

I remain directly involved in the entire software lifecycle, from identifying needs and initial design to implementation, optimization and release to production.

  • Solution design and architecture: definition of architectures, technologies, tools, patterns and implementation strategies according to the functional and technical requirements of each project.
  • Hands-on development: implementation of new features and development of critical components, services and systems, both from scratch and by evolving and optimizing existing platforms.
  • Quality and technical standards: code reviews, definition of best practices and shared criteria to maintain the quality, consistency and maintainability of the software.
  • Solving complex problems: analysis of incidents, bottlenecks and technical challenges, helping the team get unblocked and find the right solutions.
  • Technology evolution: evaluation and adoption of new technologies and tools when they bring real improvements to the solutions and development processes.

Technical leadership and team management

As the technical point of reference, I support the team throughout the development of each project, helping turn requirements into concrete solutions and facilitating technical decision-making.

  • Technical direction: setting development criteria and guidelines, coordinating architectural decisions and overseeing the implementation of solutions.
  • Mentoring and support: guiding developers, answering questions and providing technical support with complex problems or blockers that affect the team’s progress.
  • Work organization: coordination of tasks, priorities and technical dependencies to enable orderly execution aligned with the project’s goals.
  • Talent acquisition: participation in hiring processes, including designing and evaluating technical tests and conducting interviews to identify profiles that fit the team’s needs.
  • Internal process improvement: identifying organizational and technical needs, defining working protocols and establishing practices that improve the team’s collaboration, quality and efficiency.

Project management and client relations

My responsibility also covers coordinating projects from a global perspective, acting as the link between client needs, company goals and the delivery capacity of the technical teams.

  • Planning and tracking: definition of scope, goals, deliverables, priorities and timelines, monitoring progress and anticipating possible deviations.
  • Requirements analysis: direct communication with clients and other stakeholders to identify needs, clarify requirements and define solutions that meet their expectations.
  • Resource and risk management: coordination of team capacity, identification of dependencies, anticipation of risks and resolution of issues that could compromise deadlines or results.
  • Technical and functional coordination: translating business needs into technical requirements, facilitating communication between the different roles involved.
  • Deliverable tracking: quality oversight and validation that solutions meet the agreed requirements before delivery.

Infrastructure, Cloud and On-Premise

In addition to software development, I design and coordinate the infrastructure used to deploy and operate the solutions, adapting it to each client’s technical, operational and security requirements.

  • Kubernetes architecture: design, planning and implementation of clusters from scratch, defining their configuration and organization according to the needs of each environment.
  • On-Premise infrastructure: planning installations on client servers, including hardware selection and adapting the infrastructure to their operating conditions.
  • Cloud platforms: design and deployment of solutions on providers such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and OVHcloud.
  • SaaS and On-Premise environments: design and maintenance of deployment strategies adapted to each client’s operating model.
  • Operations and optimization: configuring and tuning environments to meet each project’s performance, scalability, security, availability and stability requirements.

A cross-functional view of engineering

This stage represents the consolidation of my profile as a software engineer with responsibilities in architecture, technical leadership and project management.

My day-to-day ranges from writing code and designing services to making architecture decisions, organizing the teams’ work, taking part in hiring new colleagues and talking directly with clients to understand what they need and how we can solve it.

That combination allows me to connect the different parts of a project, anticipate problems and make decisions that take into account both the technical solution and the people, resources and goals behind it.

Rather than limiting myself to a single function, my role is to accompany projects from start to finish, bringing both technical execution and a global vision to turn complex needs into real solutions.
